Homestay Package

The Homestay Package is a 6 day tour package. We dont have fixed dates for this type of package and is very flexible depending on the visitor.

 

Rates: 450€ per person

Day 1

Pick-up from Nairobi International Airport. Based on time of arrival, travel direct to Nyeri or stay for the night in Nairobi and leave early the next morning.

 

Day 2

Relax at the Homestay and get to know the sorrounding areas and nearby town. Brief orientation on Kenya's culture, economy etc. Participate in a community development program, determined by the period of visit eg whether its coffee picking season or ongoing school term etc. Have lunch with the host family, then have a walk by the river.

 

Day 3

After an early breakfast, proceed to Nanyuki and pass by the Equator before heading to Ol Pejeta Conservancy which is a sanctuary for the great Apes (Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary) where you meet Ajabu, Mwanzo etc.- Chimpanzees are not native to Kenya, their home being in Central Africa where unfortunately their numbers have been decreasing.Get to see Elephants, Lions, White southern Rhinos, Black Rhinos, The Rhino cemetry, cheetahs, The Grevy Zebras etc. Have a picnic inside the park.

On the way back pass by Nanyuki town, which is famously known for the end of the Kenyan Railway line. Enjoy a cold beer or a late cup of coffee before proceeding back to Nyeri for dinner with the host family.

 

Day 4

Have a relaxed breakfast on the Patio, then visit the Abedare National Park which is 15 Kms from Nyeri town, along the Nyeri – Nyahururu road. The park is a great place and a habitat for elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs and bushbucks among others. Its also has amazing scenery of the Abedares and a great place for bird watching with over 250 spieces of birds. Have a picnic by the river.

 

Day 5

Early breakfast then proceed to Nyahururu and visit the Thompson Falls, The great Rift Valley in Subukia then have lunch at Lake Ol bolosat. A great day to buy souveniors either at the Falls or on the nice sheds by the Rift valley.

 

Day 6

After breakfast leave for Nairobi and buy souveniors on the way.
